Days after parts of Turkey and Syria were devastated by earthquakes many communities are still waiting for any outside help.
Many thousands of people are known to have died and many more are feared to be trapped under rubble awaiting rescue.
Other survivors are living without food, shelter and water in freezing temperatures.
The scale of the disaster means that aid and rescue teams have only reached some areas, with many small rural communities completely isolated and abandoned.
International teams have begun arriving to help with rescue efforts and to support survivors but the level of need and suffering is enormous.
Sophie Raworth presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Anna Foster, at the epicentre of the earthquake in southern Turkey and Quentin Sommerville with British rescue workers who are helping to find survivors under the rubble.
